Growing up in Durban, Naledi was the child who actually enjoyed going to the dentist. Not because she loved the experience — the fluorescent lights and clinical smell were as intimidating as they are for anyone — but because she was fascinated by the idea that someone could fix a problem and send you home smiling.

After qualifying from UWC and completing her community service year in the Eastern Cape, she spent several years in Durban's public dental clinics. The volume was relentless — hundreds of patients, limited resources, and virtually no time for the kind of care she wanted to provide. She learned efficiency, resilience, and the clinical foundations that still serve her today. But she also learned what she did not want her practice to feel like.

A postgraduate diploma in aesthetic dentistry followed, then three years at a leading private group practice in Umhlanga. It was there that the vision crystallised. In 2018, Dr. Mabaso opened her own practice in Umhlanga Village. The space was designed from scratch — no hand-me-down dental chairs or inherited waiting rooms. Every detail, from the colour palette on the walls to the playlist in the treatment rooms, was chosen with patient comfort in mind.

Six years later, the team has grown to four, the practice has treated over 10,000 patients, and the original vision remains unchanged: exceptional dental care, delivered with warmth, in an environment that puts people at ease.
