Dental Implants
Permanent, natural-looking replacements for missing teeth that restore your confidence and bite.
What Are Dental Implants?
A dental implant is a small titanium post surgically placed into the jawbone, where it fuses naturally with the bone over several months. Once healed, a custom-made crown is attached to the implant, creating a replacement tooth that looks, feels, and functions just like your natural teeth.
The Implant Process
1. Consultation and Planning
Dr. Mabaso will take 3D scans of your jaw to assess bone density and plan the precise implant placement. We will discuss the full treatment timeline, costs, and what to expect at each stage.
2. Implant Placement
The titanium post is placed into the jawbone under local anaesthesia. Most patients report less discomfort than expected — many compare it to a simple extraction. You will receive a temporary restoration while the implant integrates with the bone.
3. Healing Period
Over 3–6 months, the implant fuses with your jawbone through a process called osseointegration. During this time, you can eat, speak, and smile normally with your temporary restoration.
4. Final Restoration
Once fully healed, we attach a custom porcelain crown that matches your natural teeth in colour, shape, and size. The result is virtually indistinguishable from a natural tooth.
Single Teeth, Bridges, and Full Arch
Implants are versatile. We offer single-tooth implants, implant-supported bridges for multiple missing teeth, and full-arch solutions (All-on-4) for patients who need complete upper or lower tooth replacement. Dr. Mabaso will recommend the best option based on your specific situation.
